Finals Week Forecast

it's a beautiful day in sunny athens ohio

the bees are buzzing

and the birds are chirping

and i have so much work to do

but the grass is so green

and the flowers are blooming all around me

how could i focus on a day like this?

the sky is clear and blue

people are chatting as they walk past

its all about finals and summer plans

the sun warms my skin

and the squirrels scurry by

i watch a play

i write about a play

i think about a play

i feel like the cat

sitting on the hot tin roof

but even as the metal scorches my soft paws

i find myself soaking in the warmth

cherishing it before the next snow falls
